Burning Questions: Outside the Language Center

This is "slapdashmonuments" creating a new Ficlatte account for the purpose of trying to write some Choose Your Own Adventure stories using Ficlatte's sequeling features. I'll tag work-in-progress parts WIP until the whole story is ready to play.

You grab up that welcome mat and take it with you. For all you know, it could come in handy. Then you return to the window. You drop the welcome mat at your feet and break the window open with the fire extinguisher. It's badly shattered and there are sharp shards of glass sticking up at the bottom. You try to even them out with the fire extinguisher, but then there's a huge crash and the floor behind you breaks down, leaving a gaping, firey hole in its place. You're stuck periously on a thin strip of tiles just under the window. The welcome mat has somehow remained there.

You can try to jump out the window now, try to jump back to the other side of the hole, or just cry and cry and cry.
