Burning Questions: Seize the welcome mat

You figure you can get out safely enough if you're careful...and that includes covering up those shards of glass along the bottom of the busted window with that thick welcome mat. Good thinking!

With the broken glass covered up, you feel a bit safer. However, you might be able to make a better landing, farther from the building, if you back up first. Peering downwards, and aware of the fire behind you, you see some bushes just under the window, and grass beyond that. Not too bad.

You leap the gap, get a running start, and do an impressive double jump: from the edge of the burning hole to the strip of tiles by the window, and from there far out over the bushes to the grass beyond.

You collide with the ground.

You land badly. You land on your shoulder, thank goodness it wasn't your neck. But you bang up your head and you feel a wave of dizziness.

You can hear that other voice still ringing out as your own yell stops suddenly. Then the same voice calls out three more times, growing weaker each time.
