Burning Questions: Return to the window with the extinguisher
This is "slapdashmonuments" creating a new Ficlatte account for the purpose of trying to write some Choose Your Own Adventure stories using Ficlatte's sequeling features. I'll tag work-in-progress parts WIP until the whole story is ready to play.

You take a deep breath, settle your feet, and smash the window with the fire extinguisher as hard as you can. There's a huge cracking sound and a triangular part of the window falls in; you jump back and are not cut, but you can feel the floor getting still hotter. If you're going to break this window and jump, you'd better do it soon as possible.
But can you be fast enough before the floor collapses on you?
Run back to the stairwell, or hit the window with the extinguisher once more.
