I have been HS Wift for the longest time now, through some of the darkest hours I have known, and it warms my heart to know that the light that led me through lives on still.
May it never die.
"Take that off, you know that I hate when you wear it." Keshintai said reopening their debate regarding the strip of purple-blue cloth covering Taka's eye.
"It lets me fit in, you know that." Taka replied, as she untied the cloth, revealing her gleaming lilac iris.
"Well, I wish you didn't need to do that. People should just accept you for who you are." Keshintai smiled apologetically at her friend. "Hey guess what, I got something for you!"
"Really? What is it?"
"No, silly! You have to guess!"
"Oh, I don't know, a strip of cloth for my other eye so that I can experience blindness? A very fine rock? A sock puppet?"
Keshintai laughed in response, "Those are silly guesses. No, this is something I think you'll really enjoy."
"What is it, the suspense is killing me!"
"It's almost new year's, and for our journey, I've arranged to borrow a pair of horses!"
Speechless, Taka tackled her friend in an overenthusiastic hug.
Taka smiled, "Hey, can you even ride a horse?"
