Tamori Taka: Wasp, Fox and Dragon: An unlikely harmony

HS Wift

I have been HS Wift for the longest time now, through some of the darkest hours I have known, and it warms my heart to know that the light that led me through lives on still.

May it never die.

Kabura extended his stay, solely to observe this enigmatic child tend the fox.

She fed the kit, cleaned it, changed the dressing on the wound, and each day, she would go out to the forest where she found it, and search for signs of the fox's den. Kabura would usually accompany her, helping where he could, but usually just observing, often accompanied by an impressed smile.

He observed her as she tended to the kit, and he observed as little by little the fox youngling warmed up to its nurse. Each day the fox was a little more comfortable with the girl, a little more willing to eat the food she gave her, a little more understanding of the painful need to change its bandages, a little more excited for the daily visits to the woods.

After two weeks of watching, Kabura prepared to depart.

"I can stay no longer, Taka-chan, I had meant to leave a fortnight past. I will leave you with the suggestion that it might be time to stop visiting the woods. It might be time to name our new companion."
