Tamori Taka: The promising alternative of the art of Kyujutsu

I have been HS Wift for the longest time now, through some of the darkest hours I have known, and it warms my heart to know that the light that led me through lives on still.

"This is a Han-kyu, a small bow, that does't require too much strength to use effectively, but consequently is not as powerful." Kabura explained, holding out the shortbow, "This will satisfy your martial training, without you needing to pick up a heavy sword."

Taka accepted the offering, "It's light. It doesn't tire my arms to hold it."

"Indeed. If you like, I will teach you in the basics of Kyujutsu."

They trained for most of the evening, with Taka firing at progressively more difficult targets, which were simply circles painted on trees, until she could hit them with some degree of reliability. As they finished with the last target, they conversed pleasantly while retrieving the spent arrows. It was as they were retrieving the projectiles that missed their mark that Taka saw the blood.

Dread filling her heart, she followed the blood trail to a small log.

Curled up beneath the log was a small, wounded fox kit.
