Tamori Taka: Patience culminates in an unfamiliar encounter
I have been HS Wift for the longest time now, through some of the darkest hours I have known, and it warms my heart to know that the light that led me through lives on still.
May it never die.
A week after Taka's extra lessons began, a branch of the Mirumoto family moved to the small village. With them came a child, Mirumoto Keshintai, a girl of Taka's age, who joined Taka's class. She was new and different and exotic, and an instant hit with the other children. She befriended them and joined in with their play, and little isolated Tamori Taka accepted her to be just another classmate content to ignore her.
Then one day, as she sat in the library, burying herself in detailed descriptions of the imperial stations. An unprecedented event ocurred. One of her classmates entered the library. It seemed the new girl, Keshintai, was of keener intellect than the block-headed children that formed most of the class.
Bracing herself for an awkward encounter, the all too familiar polite nods and averted gazes, Taka watched as the new girl turned and spotted her.
Much to Taka's surprise, Keshintai met her gaze, and smiled.
"Oh, hello, I wasn't expecting anyone to be in here."
