Bel: Scream

I decide to ask her how long she's been working here, when I hear a loud shriek behind me. I whirl around to see an old woman pointing outside. People are running away from the doors so it's difficult for me to make out what's going on.

Then I see an old man being dragged off by a mutant that was surprisingly, despite the sunlight that was still bathing the streets, in the open.

I slip down to the ground and unzip my backpack, searching quickly and grabbing my improvised weapon. Made out of a hairspray bottle and a grill lighter, it isn't my preferred tool but it works.

Sprinting, I aim right at the feral mutant's chest. I press on the bottle and lighter and watch as flames engulf the mutant. He is screeching so loud it probably echoes through the whole building.

Mia runs to my side and the mutant falls to the floor, dead. I flick off the lighter, and look at the terrified man now in Mia’s arms. After she sets him down inside, I turn to help Mia close the lobby doors before another mutant shows up.
