It pours down me, eroding away my uniform, my costume

The entropy brought by weather is my new disguise

And once again the water images fill me half empty, on the brighter side

It was not a sustainable image (mirage) anyhow

But when they see me next…

As water flowed, it washed me all away:

The elements that made me what I am;

My hopes and visions, first. Behind them swam

Awareness, leaking ’til there’s no today

My pride in my accomplishments went next;

My puns, non-sequiturs–my treasured words.

My heart's been touched by many a gentle word

Of kindness and acceptance. Gentle folks

Have hastened to my aid, all undeterred

When I've had trouble; they've been strong as oaks

When I've been both exhausted, frail, and grieving.
