Scout's Big Day
I'm just this guy, you know?
To expand on that, I am also the following...
- A former ficly member who is 38 years old and is schizoaffective (depressive type)
- Into creating languages and fantasy worlds from scratch
- A listener of audiobooks & good tunes
- Always too hard on myself
Scout woke up and rubbed her eyes. It was Saturday which, as any kid knows, is the best day. She kicked her blanket off, sat up, legs dangling just barely above the floor and stretched her limbs. A yawn escaped.
Then she remembered. This wasn't just any Saturday. Her, Vic and Leti were heading to the lake to explore the cove. There were all sorts of rumors surrounding those caves. Scout didn't necessarily believe them but it was more fun to think "Well, maybe..." than to rule them out completely. It would be an adventure and Scout lived for adventure.
As she quickly descended the stairs and made her way to the kitchen, she noticed her dad had already left. He was gone a lot though, ever since they build the telescope up on the mountain. They were turning it on today but Scout didn't find this exciting. If she wasn't doing it, it made little difference to her.
Scout grabbed some granola bars for the trip and headed out to her bike.
She was about to get more of an adventure than she had bargained for.
