Questions Without Answers
Devin hungered for conversation. That didn't happen much when he was around people. He tended to be the quiet sort and when he did say something it was usually the wrong thing. Two days out with nothing but a couple of dozen head of cattle as company and now he had something to say and no one to say it to. He grimaced at the joke.
An hour passed and finally he turned to the cow on his right, “Hey, Betsy. Don't be shy now. Let me ask you a question. Think about it though, don't just say the first thing that hops right into your head lickety split. Okay? Here I go: Why'n you think that the Lord God allows men like Jacob Parsons to exist, not just exist, but flourish? That is one devil of a man.”
Betsy paid him no mind but he didn't let that stop him.
"I don't really have no answer neither. The reverend once said that we have to suffer to emulate Christ but I've suffered my entire life and don't feel no closer to God. Pasons takes what he wants, uses people up and gets fat and rich. Where's God in that, huh?"

Story prompt:
The theme with this one is isolation. Interpret it however you please. Maybe they've long since gone insane from being alone, or maybe this could be the start of them being alone.

Poor guy. Just wants to ask a question. But the cow isn't even listening, much less responding.
