An Accidental Homicide
I dabble a little in a lot of things — writing, webcomics, gaming, photography, web design, music, and more. I write code full-time and words in the gaps in between.
Dear Diary,
I killed a man today. At least, I think I did. I was alone in the room one minute, and the next there was a man in front of me. I'm not sure who was more surprised -- him or me. I know I was pretty shocked, but by his expression, so was he.
"I can't believe that actually worked!" he said.
I couldn't help myself. "What worked?" I asked.
"Traveling back in time. It was just an experiment, but it worked! And on the first try!" Then he frowned. "But I'm not sure how to get back."
Again I couldn't help myself. "You didn't think of that before you tried?"
"Honestly, no. Like I said, I'm surprised it worked at all. I wanted to come back to a pivotal day in my history. And it shouldn't have worked!"
"Why is today pivotal?" I asked.
"Because today is the day you get pregnant with my grandfather."
"But I'm not married nor was I planning to go out," I replied, showing off my broken leg.
"Oh," he said. "Oh, my." Then there was a pop and he was gone. I think I killed him with that bit of news.

Make a character's diary entry. It should include a date, or a beginning like "Dear Diary" that makes it clear that it's written in a diary, but otherwise, write whatever you want.

This would have been just that little bit neater if the shock had caused her to break her leg.
