The Prank
I dabble a little in a lot of things — writing, webcomics, gaming, photography, web design, music, and more. I write code full-time and words in the gaps in between.
"I don't want to do this, just for the record," Janos says. His voice is whiny but not without cause.
"Don't be such a crybaby," Tharsten replies. "It just a simple prank."
"It's wrong," Janos says. "You'd hate it if someone pulled this stunt on you, and you know it." Janos pauses, then says, "And I hate that you're making me do this to the girls."
Tharsten laughs. "I'm not making you do anything, Janos. You agreed to help me."
Janos winces at the reminder. "'Agreed' is a strong word for it, Tharsten. You didn't give me much of a choice."
Tharsten chuckles again. "It's not my fault you're weak-willed, Janos. Grow more of a spine and people will stop being able to take advantage of you -- and your particular... abilities."
Janos sighs. He knows Tharsten is right, and that bothers him more than he cares to admit. But he readies the spell, anyway, that will wake the girls in their dormitory in terror. He just hopes the fallout won't land back on him.
Tharsten motions him forward. "Here we go. Ready?"

Less evil and more mischief. Don't feel too bad for Janos, though. The poor kid doesn't have much of a backbone.

This is a pretty good take on the prompt! And more subtle than any examples I could think of while making the prompt.
I feel bad for Janos, though. His powers are being used to evil.
