Just to say--

slapdashmonuments

Inspiration hits with a flash, stories written on the go. A rumble of laughter and the tale is heard only in echoes. The wind blows me in a new direction. Whom shall I visit next?

This isn't just to say

That I have eaten the plums

From the icebox that you unwisely left unlocked

.

Like, you didn't even install a lock

What were you thinking?

.

Any butthead could come along and steal your plums!

You're damn lucky it was me.

.

They weren't bad, either, a bit too tart for me

Good luck breakfasting without them, loser!

.

The other thing though:

You're low on milk.

.

That's the rest of what I wanted to say

Get some milk, and Fruity Pebbles too.

.

I hunger.

I thirst.

.

Laters, sucker

Marcus

There have been SO many parodies of this piece already, I felt like I had to put in my oar just for the hell of it. I have been thinking of a name I've wanted to use for a character. It wasn't Marcus, I think, but similar in some way that makes sense to me. But on the other hand, Marcus reminds me of Carlos in several ways.

Sure and why shouldn't you? You're a poet! Not only do I like this poem, and at least some of the variations, but I like your version too. I'm not sure about the hunger and thirst lines near the end but really they're the only ones. I get a good feeling of Marcus and surprisingly don't hate him for eating MY plums (or you know, your plums, or the narrator's or whoever). Fun stuff.
