"When I first got here, I didn't think as to how. I only knew one thing." She blushes, which only serves to highlight those dimples I so adore. "I had to find you."

"And once you found me?" I ask.

"Things went... quickly from that point." She shrugs. "It wasn't, really, until we got here and you passed out that I had any time at all to think about it."

Something about her tone makes me say, "And you didn't find anything out."

She shakes her head. "No. Nothing. I tried studying everything from quantum physics to multiverse theory to metaphysics. Bits and pieces may have had some connection, but for all I know, I was made from Adam's rib."

"That can't be easy. Not knowing."

Another shrug. "Oddly enough, it's not a problem for me. Like I said, I know why I'm here. I don't need to know how."

I think about it for a minute. "I guess that makes sense. A lot of people go their entire lives without knowing their purpose in life."

"Well, then, I guess I should be happy I found you."

I know I am.
