Moonlit Ascension (1/2)
Inspiration hits with a flash, stories written on the go. A rumble of laughter and the tale is heard only in echoes. The wind blows me in a new direction. Whom shall I visit next?
When dusk descends, the waves draw near,
And gravity holds sway.
I hold the moon within my eye;
I hope I'm drawn away.
I raise my hands
Above the sands
The moon commands me: Come without delay.
I joy! Her Majesty has heard!
I hasten to obey.
I wrap myself in beams of light,
A hammock to convey
This acolyte.
Up through moon light,
With gentle motion, t'ward the moon I'll sway.
Serene in power, Mother Moon
Receives me, and I kneel.
I've always dreamt of seeking her,
And awe is all I feel.
She says she knows
My earthly woes;
Her heart has heard my paean, my appeal!
She calls me daughter, all-belov'd!
She marks me with her seal.
Diana's children serve her well,
And serve the common weal.
I am her kind
In heart and mind
All wisdom, love, and mercy she'll reveal.
Now, paltry life on Earth's forgot,
All fretful fears forsworn.
The ones I've loved best are my charge--
Have been, since I was born.
My constant light
Shall calm their fright
We'll never be abandoned or forlorn.
