"Why the movies?" Everett sounded bewildered.
"I don't know where to tell you to go, but don't go straight home. Go somewhere public. Or go somewhere and get lost. She could follow you. She probably has your license plate number."
"Great."
"How did she find you?"
"I was out at the bar with a co-worker."
"Never go to the same place twice, Everett!" I held my tongue, my hand balled in a fist.
"I screwed up." Everett sounded scared and remorseful. My heart sank.
"Listen. Maybe it's time we took a road trip."
"What do you mean?"
"We can't defeat this enemy if we stay apart."
"But you heard the prophecy, if the rings are in proximity.."
"I know!" I interrupted. "But the end of the prophecy says that together they must be to end the.."
"Don't say it. And don't call it a prophecy. It's a curse."
"You called it a prophecy first!"
My boyfriend had entered the lobby to find me, "What prophecy?" crap
"I gotta go."
"Were you on a date?"
"Yeah."
"Sorry." I heard the guilt in his voice as he hung up.

I went back and added parenthesis at the titles for whose point of view the piece is from. I can't add it to the original because it was a challenge entry, and I can't change the prequel because I didn't write it. I hope that helps! I like to switch characters.

The change in viewpoint between Part 1 and 2 and then again between 3 and 4 threw me there for a bit. I had to go back and re-read to make sense of the events. But once I had that clear, this became a very compelling and intense set of events. I'm very interested to watch it develop and learn more about these rings, their relationship to each other, and who the woman with the golden eyes is.
