Sabbatical
I've been gone for far to long
No typing have I done
No stories written, No poems penned
No reading others prose
A year has passed, Life changed for the better
I've moved away from the pain and strife
Back to a place of peaceful rest
Back to the roots of my youth
Morning coffee on the porch swing
Birds seranade the coming days
A view of the horses grazing calmly
While the frogs croak and jump into the pond
Surrounded by tobacco fields
And those by whom I'm loved
Encouraged, held and validated
My heart has has found its rest
So here I sit, Fingers to keyboard
Typing once again
My healthy sabbatical has ended here
Hello again old friends
