META: Burning Questions
This is "slapdashmonuments" creating a new Ficlatte account for the purpose of trying to write some Choose Your Own Adventure stories using Ficlatte's sequeling features. I'll tag work-in-progress parts WIP until the whole story is ready to play.

I found that the lack of hypertext links within the body of the story, or the possibility of being able to simply have multiple pages sequel back to the same point of divergence, is a bit of an impediment, but still, this is swell. If I had written this one here, I probably would have avoided such things just by having fewer opportunities in the story to return to where the play had been before...to avoid reusing locations.
Still, please, everyone feel free to visit the Trailhead of this story [https://ficlatte.com/stories/41125] and give this one a whirl. There's one "best" ending, several "bad" endings, and a number of "Not bad, but not ideal" endings. I hope you enjoy it.
