Burning Questions: On Past the Fiery Books...
This is "slapdashmonuments" creating a new Ficlatte account for the purpose of trying to write some Choose Your Own Adventure stories using Ficlatte's sequeling features. I'll tag work-in-progress parts WIP until the whole story is ready to play.
The first full story, "Burning Questions," is available now:

Just beyond them, in a pool of liquid that you presume to be gasoline as well, is a person you remember from your first year of school, a heavy, bearded scholar with a bald spot. A ferocious person.
But right now he does not look fierce; he is frightened. He has fallen down, and his leg is bent into an unusual position. It looks broken. He cannot get out, and he knows it. And the spill leads from his own sodden backside to the cardboard boxes. He hardly sees you and Burton; his eyes are fixed on the textbooks. He flinches at every spark and leap of the flames. He dabs at the floor with his handkerchief, uselessly, and then wipes his forehead with the same cloth.
In the puddle, lazily dripping from its round hole, the gasoline can lies on its side. Gundersen is nervously drumming his fingers on the metallic surface. The rolling, rumbling sound is unnerving.
There doesn't seem to be much time left before this situation goes up in flames.
