Burning Questions: You move closer

The first full story, "Burning Questions," is available now:

As you do, your foot slips on the floor. Someone has spilled some liquid. It's too bad the bathrooms are so far away, close to the fire; maybe they could have been of some use, if you'd have been able to reach them.
You reach out to the wooden door, and feel that it is not hot. You push the door open and enter the large classroom.
You can see the stage-like platform and desk against the wall closest the hallway, facing row after row of seats that fold up like in a movie theater. They are curved in towards the stage, obviously to take in the teacher's area and the glossy whiteboard behind the desk.
The seats are separated into three sections, with two aisles radiating from the central desk like spokes.
Nobody is visible in the first aisle, closest to you. But you cannot see well into the second aisle.
