Burning Questions: Return to the open-air square to await rescue

This is "slapdashmonuments" creating a new Ficlatte account for the purpose of trying to write some Choose Your Own Adventure stories using Ficlatte's sequeling features. I'll tag work-in-progress parts WIP until the whole story is ready to play.

You realize that nobody knows you're in the building, and that if the doors are still locked, they might have to be broken down before the firefighters can put the fire out. You put yourself at a safe distance from the doors and wait. Soon the sound of breaking glass can be heard, and you yell out immediately afterwards.

There is a sound of commotion. You can hear a fire hose blasting out the flames near the front stairs, and a brave firefighter dressed all in yellow rushes in, trying to find out who had called out.

Tuckered out, you let the firefighter carry you out the building to safety, and soon the fire is extinguished. The front stairs have fallen in, but you're safe, thank goodness. I'm glad about that!
