Despite the stench of unwashed reptile, I could smell the newcomer. He paused at the sound of my footsteps as I approached.
"Cara? I'm here to take you home."
My hero I thought sarcastically.
"I have a new home now," I answered. I could sense him relax a little at my voice. He'd found me.
"Please. Stop this nonsense and come home." He began to step deeper into the cave darkness, but could see nothing. He reached for a flashlight and the air was filled with a hiss.
"Don't make any sudden moves."
"Cara? What's going on here?" He flapped his arms in exasperation.
"Take it slow.." I said in an undertone that he couldn't hear.
Thousands of yellow, red, and blue eyes suddenly dotted the walls around us. He froze. Slowly, he drew his flashlight and flicked it on. He screamed. The pointy-eared, pointy toothed, hairless gremlins pounced on him.
"I warned you. All my friends are heathens."
The sounds of growling and shrieking nearly overpowered his frantic screams as the beasts tore at him.

Song was playing in the car and I suddenly had this image in my head. This scene. The real lyrics, though, make me think of inmates, not demon gremlins.

Sounds like that fellah has a reptile dysfunction.

I personally love that song because I feel like it perfectly describes the ragtag eccentric damaged group of friends I have and to see it visualized in this way was equally appealing. I definitely appreciated the almost Cartoon Network style descriptions of the monsters.

Story prompt:
Pick a song. Can be one you like or just be a song at random.
Either while listening or after listening write whatever scene plays out in your head while that music is playing in the background.
Include the name of the song in the story title if you can.

Heathens is putting it mildly, I think.
