A wailing, rainy night. One of the most beautiful things.
Inspiration hits with a flash, stories written on the go. A rumble of laughter and the tale is heard only in echoes. The wind blows me in a new direction. Whom shall I visit next?
A wailing, rainy night. One of the most beautiful things.
I smiled into the raindrops and they flowed like therapy as if from my eyes
My eyes unfocused at the sparkling streetlights as I strode forward by the park
My feet squishing in my messed up sneakers
I could feel my toes raisining up, but I didn’t care, that was for later.
For it was the time, was the time I’d waited for
As if tears could say it for me
It was over and it hurt and I smiled
smiled and laughed
then the park bench held me as she never would again
and I loved it for the bench would never abuse me
its flaking paint eroding down like more tears
I have never had such an empathetic seat as that night
The cars had angels rising out of them
And the wind and the traffic howled its paean of thanks
I got home safe
and I didn’t got sick
I got better
and I got over her
blest by the rain
lovely on me head to toe
and I said
I’ve slipped out of your grip
I’m out
free

One of my very favorite Disney moments is in the original Beauty and the Beast, on the rooftops of Beast's castle, as Beast holds the fink Gaston. His face transforms from rage to a new sort of resolve, and in that moment the music changes and the rain sweeps differently, more gently, as if washing the hate out of him. It was a moment that, to me, seems to be necessary, before his visual transformation back to human form.

Sometimes the rain washes us clean. It's not always a sad or depressing thing. I'm glad you wrote about the rain being healing.
