Swinging Fun

slapdashmonuments

Inspiration hits with a flash, stories written on the go. A rumble of laughter and the tale is heard only in echoes. The wind blows me in a new direction. Whom shall I visit next?

Kathy von Carey

Hung on the lamppost

Bucking and swaying

Then slipping again

.

Leaping to snatch it

She grasped the loose wires

Bucking and swaying

Collapsing in pain

.

Children be cautious

In all of your playtime

There’s fun, but there’s danger

So mind how you go

.

Always remember

Sweet Kathy von Carey

Who strove to rise higher

But now she’s Below.

Dude your just showing off huh? Hey did you know that Asimov's science fiction and fantasy magazine excepts poetry submissions and pays for them.

This is like a modern mother goose rhyme. It's just lighthearted enough to make the warning to kids not as grotesque as the reality would be.

I like Ike, and am distantly aware, and partake of that periodical when I can. Never seriously thought of submitting, but hmmm I need to publish anyhow... Thanks. My best to you both.
