Sic Semper Osores
Inspiration hits with a flash, stories written on the go. A rumble of laughter and the tale is heard only in echoes. The wind blows me in a new direction. Whom shall I visit next?
"Funny you should ask," said Su. "There's this," she tossed the glowing stick suddenly onto his chest, "and then there's a couple more things coming.
"Oh, Ed," she moaned at him softly. "No pun intended, but it's so nice to finally have you in my crutches at last." Ed's eyes widened in slow realization as Su eased herself up two more stairs. "This will be hell on my knees, but it's going to be worth it." She used the edges of the stairs to pull the soft rubber covers off the sharpened ends of the sticks. Ed could barely make her out.
"A last reminder, Ed," Su said, balancing herself and crouching slightly. "People with disabilities don't appreciate it when you call them crippled. Don't do it again."
Ed was shivering in a puddle on the cement cellar floor. "I won't, I promise."
"I know you won't," Su answered. "One, two, three..."
"No, please!" Ed's call rang and resounded in the enclosed space, but when Su landed, his plea became a death scream.
Ed was unable to stop himself.
Thus always to haters.
