"Wait, so, she ran away from her husband into the arms of another man. That's adultery," concluded Sonia.
"But, her husband was raping her. He only sees her as a possession he's entitled to by law," argued Monica.
"Ew. I'd run away, too. Can't she get a separation?"
"Well, where would she go? It would disgrace his name and no one would believe her. She is nothing without him." Monica's eyes glittered. She loved a good debate.
"But going to another man isn't right either." Sonia wrinkled her nose.
"But she loves him and he loves her and he treats her right."
"So, you're saying adultery is okay simply because of love?" Sonia raised one eyebrow.
"No, but it's better than her staying in the relationship."
"She needs to get a divorce."
"She can't. She has no rights."
"Then she needs to force him to divorce her. Can she set him up with other women?"
"He's too clever and too self-righteous. He'd never slip up."
"Then she has to kill him."
"Oh, adultery is bad, but murder is okay?" Monica laughed.
"It's your book!"

This was an enjoyable story, with a rather meta ending. An excellent read!

It is odd how our reactions to things can be a bit skewed. Personally, I'd normally favour the option that leaves the fewest rotting corpses, but I'm not always standing with the majority.

Really thoughtful and engaging dialogue about women's rights. Love it!
