The Secret, Part 3/3

slapdashmonuments

Inspiration hits with a flash, stories written on the go. A rumble of laughter and the tale is heard only in echoes. The wind blows me in a new direction. Whom shall I visit next?

And now, like a spirit, your voice rings once more

How confusing to put them together:

Your voice, and your words, I could never expect

You would speak this way to me. Can we reconnect?

With the return of hot, muggy weather

Comes a new conversation. Lord, let us restore

Some small part of the past. Let's shed regret--

And perhaps we'll discover that nothing was wrong

But a broken connection that hampered our song

Bring back friendship, oh please! If it can still belong

To these two sore lost souls, please reveal the void in the secret.
