Neptune folded the message and placed it back on the butler's tray, dismissing him with a nod. He turned back to the fire quietly crackling in the hearth, casting warm shadows on wooden panelling and leather armchairs.
Picking up a half-forgotten tumbler, he slowly swirled the golden liquid in the crystal. Closed his eyes, deep in thought.
The butler returned with a whispered message and a coat. Neptune nodded, standing and taking the coat, and strode from the room.
The chase could attend to itself. He had more important matters to attend to.
