Cow Rite 3: Rite of Whey
Getting back into the flow of writing, mostly with wordplay and poems. I'm a creative soul, from childhood to middle age, and my joy is to produce new things the world has never seen before. I'm an educator from the USA working as a college professor of lit and music. I'm learning to love myself little by little.
Polishing her well-fingered nails against a strip of garish colored sandpaper above the visor, Ossie tromped her best L'Oeil and went gangbusters, head for leather, on her hurtling passage of Rite. She would need no rite aid today!
Bucksnifter Lentilsgreene, hoary old barkeep at the Turvey Inn, swaddled his bar with a circular motion, driving the terrycloth loops yet deeper into the lustrous mahogany surface of the formica. He'd been a fixture at the Inn for untold decades, and he still functioned as an electrical outlet in times of need, though now he more often poured drinks, and poured not a few drunks as well, to boot, in addition. Brewing some coffee for the predawn crowd, his ears suddenly perked up. Wasn't that the sound of a '76 Winebagel? In heat? And perspiring?
Shirley Enuff, the lone customer this dawn, turned her tousled mouth to the wing door. "Gadsakes, Snifty, lissen, it's a 2014 Austenato a-comin'!" As they glared at the sound together, Lentilsgreene could see that she was perfectly mistaken.

At first I thought this was going to be a one-off thing, but I'm actually loving the alternate Wild-West feel of this series. It's embellished in all the same ways I love to decorate my stories - that is, until it's positively dripping with detail.
To answer a previous comment from "Cow Rite", I can't speak for anyone else but myself but it is fairly rare for me to engage in co-writing. Some others, particularly on the older Ficly site, were great at it, but I was not one of them. That's not to say it will never happen though! Just needs to be the right concept at the right time.
Keep going with this series, by the way. It's got that shiny feeling about it.

Absolutely gorgeous. In a bazaar tern of events, I find myself revealing in your obtuse of long-wedge.
