Undersong to Oversong

aslargeasalone

Getting back into the flow of writing, mostly with wordplay and poems. I'm a creative soul, from childhood to middle age, and my joy is to produce new things the world has never seen before. I'm an educator from the USA working as a college professor of lit and music. I'm learning to love myself little by little.

I need some music

Some music for food

To fill me up

I’m in such a mood

But I’m too far down

To pick out a song

And if someone helps

Just to move me along

I’d thank you to spin me

A tune that will lift

Me out of the doldrums

A personal gift

I’m stuck here forever

But I haven’t time

I’m due for a meeting

In a higher clime

I know I should be there

Instead of down here

What traps me? Quite frankly

It’s nothing but fear

A beat could inspire

A confident motion

A groove that would soothe me

Fa Jojoba Lotion

From hips to my shoulders

And then to my head

My smile would arch up

To heaven, instead

Of this lowly sewer

I’m languishing in.

Love, play me some music,

And pick up my grin.

Great sentiment, and absolutely true. Nice use of motion to convey the two frames of mind. I like the lines: "...spin me a tune that will lift me..."
