Thoughts Drifting
I am one of the original Ficletters, way back when Ficlets was on AOL.
Then when there was no where to go, I headed of to Protagonize, nice community, but I couldn't get in the swing of things over there, and then all of a sudden, there was an announcement that a baby Ficlets, Ficly, was born! We were there for a good many years, but alas, some good things must come to an end...
Then, a nice fellow, started Ficlatte. THANK GOODNESS!!
I appreciate the hard work that was put into starting this site here - hopefully that will stay longer than the other two sites.
I am Brebelles,{LoA} League of Awesomeness - Saint Smiley. ^.^
I usually write poetry, but I do spin out the occasional story here and there.
My poetry began back in 2006/2007, mostly 2007 when a very dear friend had passed. I was young, she was close to my heart and I needed to get my feelings out... some way some how.
I love constructive criticism, so please comment, comment, comment!
Months went by,
Since she left the only way of life she's ever known,
Simple life, hard life, workers' life,
City life she now knows.
Spruced up her wardrobe,
With 15 hour works days,
Not much better than before,
But the energy here- it keeps here alive.
The bustling, the lights-
The city almost never sleeps,
She's working toward a high-level life,
With luxuries never thought of.
Sitting in a park,
On a gorgeous park bench, under a willow tree,
Reminiscing of her family,
Of what she left, of what is gone.
She did what she had to,
For her sanity,
her longevity,
her hopes.
She thrives in fashion,
Not what her family had to offer her,
High-end life -she's slowly acquiring,
Her memories slowly fading.
Like leaves drifting away in fall,
Changing colors,
Slowly dying,
Her memories ar...
Coffee runs,
Over crowded walks,
Demanding bosses,
On the bottom.
Prove her worth,
Day after day,
Tiring and exhausting,
Happier than ever before.

In the dead of night,
She packed her bags,
Off to far away she went,
Without a sound - she's gone.

Seeing this kind of thought succession has always intrigued me. It's like catching a glimpse of the world the way someone else sees it.
