A challenge?

aslargeasalone

Getting back into the flow of writing, mostly with wordplay and poems. I'm a creative soul, from childhood to middle age, and my joy is to produce new things the world has never seen before. I'm an educator from the USA working as a college professor of lit and music. I'm learning to love myself little by little.

Some love a challenge; others choose

To wield a tool that's quick to use.

But as for me, I want a prompt,

Some sylvan glade where no one's romped

Before--a snowy field to mark up

And love the night, then give the dark up.

I shun the the less-resistant road!

I think, in this case, there's some code

That must be written 'fore the party

Can commence here at Ficlatte,

In terms of challenges to meet

And chances, therefore, to compete

And please the challenger with wit

Or drama, or the lack of it.

I'm not complaining. Oh, dear! No.

I simply long for seeds to grow

Inside a snug communal pot

Where roots can mingle gladly. Not

A rowdy bustle, but instead,

A forum where we, head to head,

Can share our notions, share a laugh,

And feel at home, writers and staff.

If anyone will offer me

3 random English words, I'll see

If I can bring them gently to

A single tale or verse for you.

So, any takers? Who's got words

To tease the talent of this nerd's?

Have you got game? If so, come on!

The challenge day's about to dawn.
