Second Post!
I dabble a little in a lot of things — writing, webcomics, gaming, photography, web design, music, and more. I write code full-time and words in the gaps in between.
The first was wooden and splintery. Brittle. Damn thing would fall over at the slightest gust of wind. It wouldn't hold itself up, much less an entire fence.
This one, though... this one was made of metal. Stainless steel. It was solid -- and heavy. So shiny it was blinding when the sun hit it from just the right angle. I'd have sworn when we set it that it could have tethered a god to the ground.
Which is more or less what we used it for. The poor bastard we have tied to it now appears weak and pathetic, but don't let that fool you. He's stronger than he looks. We've seen him summon the very powers of creation behind him. Why he let us tie him down like this and why he doesn't just break free are questions I don't have the answers to. None of us do. And yet that's exactly where we're at now.
I've seen the wheels in Dad's head turning, and I know what comes next. I know he's thinking about what to do with that third post.

Yeah, this was the first version of the story. The edited version has the Markdown fixed. Unfortunately, there isn't a way to remove this one. Still waiting on the ability to do edits as actual edits and not new stories. :)
And I do love me some punniness. :)

Dramatic, god-slaying stuff.Or just slightly paranoid monologue. Interesting nonetheless.
And curse you, aslargeasalone, for claiming precedence on the 'stake in this' pun that I would have used.

Ahh I see some markdown flickering around. I like the wordplay, that's one thing that's always welcome.
It seems you already have a stake in this website.
