Punctuation!

Challenge

Challenge Deadline: 17 May 2017

A federal court recently ruled that the Oxford comma is absolutely essential to clarity in writing. All our English grammar classes emphasize proper punctuation -- commas, apostrophes, quotation marks, exclamation points, etc. Punctuation tells us where to breath, where to end a thought and begin a new one, when a statement is a statement rather than a question. And we all know that person (or people) on Facebook who proves just how important punctuation is when they write a post that is completely devoid of it.

So prove the importance of punctuation by writing a story that has none. Be creative and try to write something that remains coherent and readable despite the absence of any punctuation marks at all. (And yes, poetry is acceptable, though that may be skirting the point of this challenge somewhat.)

Poetry, and emoticons... don't forget that those can skirt the point of this challenge. You are the judge, though. ;)

I assume text speak would be too easy...

Like I said, be creative. I'm genuinely curious to see what folks come up with for this one. :)

Unusual idea. I thought I used too many commas until I took my first English college course. My professor marked all my papers thoroughly with commas I didn't know could exist.

I'll ruminate on this.
